I have been CrossFitting now properly for about 6-7 months. Before joining Human I was doing a bit of strength and conditioning training on top of my rugby training.
The biggest change I have noticed within myself since starting CrossFit is probably my self confidence. I would have to say it’s the best i’ve ever felt about myself.
My favourite movement.. Well do curls count? I’d say anything involving deadlifts. My least favourite would probably be Cleans (Squat).
I’ll take squats over burpees everyday. Definitely running or rowing over the assault bike, they should be illegal.
One thing that I can do now that I couldn’t before starting CrossFit is Handstand Push-ups. It was one of my main goals that I’ve been able to achieve at Human.
My favourite cheat meal.. Well, where do start! I love a good burger or anything involving fried chicken. I also don’t mind a beer, especially after a game of rugby.
One thing I love outside of the gym is playing rugby. It has been a part of my life now for longer than I can remember.
Coffee, I love my coffee, I wouldn’t last a day without it. I love a good cold brew.
Life without Bacon would be very boring breakfasts. I love a full English Breakfast on the weekends.
The thing I enjoy the most about Human Fitness is the community. Everyone is really supportive.
My best party trick is being able to clap with one hand!
My favourite place to travel is Europe. I’d really love to get back to Prague or Berlin.
Three things I couldn’t live without is Blaze – my chocolate Labrador. Coffee and probably my Spotify account – music really helps to set the tone for whatever it is I’m trying to do.
In 5 years I hopefully will have survived Corona and can reminisce of how we had to do virtual classes.
Moving forward I want to improve my gymnastic skills and improve my Olympic lifting technique. Also just finding new ways to stay motivated while we are in lockdown.
